Take a “behind-the-scenes” tour of Collier County Agriculture & Horticulture Operations Your tour includes transportation to various locations aboard an air-conditioned bus with knowledgeable tour guides. Lunch will be prepared by the ITECH culinary students of Immokalee High School (sorry, special diets cannot be accommodated).
This year’s Ag Tour will feature a variety of interesting stops that showcase Collier County’s rich and diverse agriculture industry including an ornamental plant nursery, organic vegetable farm, produce packing plant, and commercial citrus grove. In addition, participants will tour UF/IFAS’s Research Center in Immokalee to learn how researchers are helping to sustain and enhance the region’s agriculture industry Tour includes getting on and off a bus and moderate amounts of walking. Comfortable closed-toed shoes and suitable outdoor clothing are advised. Snacks and water will be provided on the tour.
Buses depart from the Collier County UF/IFAS Extension Office: 14700 Immokalee Road, Naples (10 miles east of I-75 Exit # 111) Buses 1 & 2 leave promtly @ 8 am and return approximately @5:00 PM Buses 3 & 4 leave promptly @ 9 am and return approximately @ 6 PM.
