This “hole in the wall” has been a local favorite forever because they know how to treat a fish. Here in Southwest Florida our fish of choice is locally caught Gulf of Mexico grouper. At Grouper & Chips, you can depend on fresh and well prepared. For lunch or dinner, a grouper sandwich or a basket of fried grouper and french fries are the most popular entrees.
Our personal favorite is the linguini and blackened grouper – we’ll order a bowl of seafood chowder or a salad and then split the entree because the dinner portion size is plenty big enough. Make note of the daily specials, too.
The place is very small inside and the outside seating is limited to a few tables on the sidewalk next to the parking lot. However, the line of people waiting to be served during the busy season is testimony to the quality of the food. Don’t expect a lot for atmosphere, but it’s clean and the service is definitely on top of things. Go early, go casual and go often.
Everything is available for delivery (Naples Express Meals at (239) 949-7117) or take-out, too. They are open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 am until 9 pm and closed on Sunday.
