The Key West Express operates a fleet of high-speed vessels that accommodate over 300 people sailing down and back to Key West from the harbor of Fort Myers Beach (all year round) and from Rose Marina on Marco Island (on a seasonal basis). Unless there is “method to your madness” to drive all of the way to Key West, this is the best way to travel to Key West. You’ll be in total comfort with 2 outdoor sundecks, 2 indoor climate-controlled cabins, large screen televisions, food is available from the galley and you can really relax as you get in the island frame of mind with tropical concoctions, wine and beer.
The trip takes about 3 1/2 hours aboard the boat as you take in the scenery and the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico. You are delivered right in downtown Key West and you begin strolling the streets the moment you step off the vessel. No need for a car at all. The choice is yours – come back later on the same day or stay overnight in Key West. This is a “must-do” if you are on vacation and highly recommended for locals in need of a change of scenery.
The boat departs Fort Myers Beach @ 8:30 am and arrives in Key West @ 12 pm. The trip back leaves Key West @ 5 pm and arrives in Marco Island @ 8:15 pm or choose the boat departing for Fort Myers Beach @ 6 pm and arrives in Fort Myers Beach @ 9:30 pm.
Rates are $146 (Round Trip) & $86 (One Way) for adults. Up to 12 years old, kids travel for $81. Seniors 62+ are $136 & $86 (Discounts for early bookings).

Traveling is existential. When you travel, everything around you is new and interesting. You forget about the inside of your own head, because you’re focused on the external world.
