With an excellent location, lots of parking and full amenities, Lowdermilk Park makes for a great day at the beach. This is a City of Naples facility so, the parking is free if you have a Collier County or a City of Naples beach sticker and the pavilion includes restrooms, outdoor showers, a snack bar/concession stand with a full menu and plenty of shaded picnic tables.
In addition, there is a separate area for beach volleyball, a children’s playground and gazebos at either end of the park. The beach itself is beautiful, of course, and there is enough space for some quiet without having to hike a long distance and enough “action” to make people watching fun, too.
From this location, you can look south and see the Naples Pier in the distance and, if you are a devoted beachcomber, the Pier makes a good destination for a round-trip walk.
Get there early enough and you’ll be able to claim one of those thatched tiki huts that you see in the picture. They are first come, first served and make a great place to set up camp for a day at the beach.
The gazebos located on the lawn are available for rent, by the way, if you have a big group or an occasion which is suitable for them. Stop by at the concession stand or contact Russell’s Clambakes (the vendor at the concession stand) @ (239) 417-0777 for more information. Also, Lowdermilk Park is an excellent vantage point from which to watch the City of Naples fireworks display on both Fourth of July and the New Year’s Eve celebration.
For more information about all of the City of Naples parks, details about parking permits and more specifics about Lowdermilk Park go to the Naples official website and choose “Parks and Recreation” where you can also view other parks of interest to you. Also, you’ll find a list of all of the beach areas and access points in the City of Naples that have outdoor showers installed for your convenience on the left side banner of the beach related pages of the website.
