The Naples Princess sails daily from her dock at the Port-O-Call Marina near downtown Naples. There are several departures from which to select including lunch tours, sightseeing and the 2-hour sunset cruise. We highly recommend the sunset cruise – we witnessed the “green flash” as the sun set into the Gulf of Mexico while on this cruise.
By the way, the green flash is a real phenomenon but it is extremely difficult to photograph. If you have hopes of capturing the green flash with your camera, we would recommend using video. There are plenty of photo opportunities so do not forget a camera of some sort …. most likely you’ll see dolphins and other wildlife, expensive boats passing by, scenic vistas and your own people shots to document the trip.
While cruising Naples Bay, you’ll have the opportunity to see some spectacular waterfront homes in the neighborhood of Port Royal. The ship travels through the bay and out into the Gulf of Mexico through Gordon Pass. You’ll dine on food items prepared fresh daily, right on board in the galley. All your favorite beverages, including tropical frozen drinks, are served by a professional and courteous crew.
The Naples Princess was custom designed and built to specifications with a high-gloss cherry wood interior, gold-plated reflective ceilings and flat screen televisions. The Captain’s Lounge features large windows, nautical décor, and rich leather chairs.
In addition, the Naples Princess has a unique sound system throughout the yacht that lets you hear music, narration, and presentations no matter where you are on the yacht. Also, there are two flat screen televisions which show navigational tracking of the cruise route and can also be used to enhance entertainment, ceremonies and speeches. (There is also a private bridal room for brides to be for wedding charters; the yacht is available to charter for other functions such as corporate functions and private parties, too.)
The Naples Princess offers daily public cruises, a Seabreeze Lunch Buffet Cruise, an Afternoon Sightseeing Cruise, a Sunset Hors d’Ouevres Cruise and a Sunset Dinner Cruise. Depending on the cruise, ticket prices vary from $30 to $60 for adults. Kids under 2 years of age are free. Children between 3 years and 11 years old have a discounted rate.
Here’s a local tip – check the Naples Princess website for coupons and discounts and also look for tourist flyers and magazines with special promotions for the cruises. You’ll find some sort of discount or coupon for the cruises in just about every tourist advertising pamphlet that you pick up. Also, it’s worth checking out their website to learn more about what happens on the boat and the tours, how to book in advance, pay for tickets and more. There is a FAQ section on the website which will answer just about any question you can think of regarding the cruises.
A cruise aboard the Naples Princess is really a “must-do” for a vacation or a visit to Naples.
