The Naples Zoo opened up in the fall of 1969 on property that was formerly the gardens for Dr. Henry Nehrling, a botanist. Larry & Jane Tetzlaff added the animals to reopen the property to the public as a zoo on lushly landscaped grounds. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful collection of animal in a fully accredited zoo here in Naples.
The Naples Zoo is one of just four zoos to have a honey badger – all the rage on YouTube nowadays with a video that has been viewed millions and millions of times (video by Chris Gordon and audio by Randall). In fact, Chris Gordon and Randall collaborated on a honey badger video just for the Naples Zoo.
