The Sun-N-Fun Lagoon is the only waterpark in Collier County and it is exceptional! This is part of the Collier County Parks & Recreation system so the facility is top notch and the prices are reasonable.
One million gallons of water fun will thrill children, parents and grandparents alike at Sun-N-Fun Lagoon, which is an amusement destination. Sun-N-Fun Lagoon includes four pools, a long lazy river, a lit splash playground or interactive water feature, five exciting water slides, a concession stand and other typical amenities such as restrooms and lockers. The water temperature year round is kept between 80 to 83 degrees Fahrenheit. Parking is free.
The Sting Ray is a totally enclosed slide and is the fastest, most exhilarating ride in the park. It’s a seven-second drop to the pool below. You can often hear the screams of excitement as visitors experience the slide. There are three other slides that drop into the same pool and are a combination of enclosed and open slides. The largest slide and most popular is the Sea Lion, which plummets you down on an inner tube into the long lazy river. The slides, range between 220 and 350 linear feet in length.
The river is different than some other parks, because it has two circular paths, which vary your travel time between 7 minutes and 15 minutes around the park. Sunny’s River is more than 1,250 feet long and varies between 8 feet and 10 feet wide. To the right you get soaked with buckets of water and soaker areas that will keep you ducking for fun.
This pool was built with the thought in mind that some parents may wish to bask in the sun and water with their children in a quieter atmosphere, away from the slides. The Family Falls pool is 4 feet deep. All ages are welcome in the family pool.
The area is designated for kids only who are between the ages of 5 and 12. Turtle Cove floats lily pads in the water with a mesh rope overhead for kids to test their navigation skills. The pool is more like a playground than a regular pool because of the fountain shooting up into the air and water pistols on the side, where kids can target those splashing around in the pool. Many water parks offer wave pools and general activities, but Sun-N-Fun Lagoon was designed with the goal of keeping children safe, while allowing them to experience fun on their own. The depth of Turtle Cove is three-and-a-half-feet and it’s the most busy of the attractions for kids.
Tadpole pool is less pool and more activities. It has just 18 inches of water so that smaller children are safe with their parents, who are required to be with the children. Tadpole Pool’s most vibrant amenity is the oversized wave slide, which is actually a colored foam slide. Kids climb up the back and slide down and out of the wave slide. There are also water dumping buckets, swings and animals to ride in the water as well as a water worm that squirts water up into the air. This area is for children six years old and younger.
Dolphin Dive and Lap Pool
The dive area boasts a high three-meter dive and low one-meter dive into a 14 feet pool well. The pool also has two lap lanes for adults, who wish to get some exercise in while their older kids play. There is always a competition between the divers, no matter what time of day you come to the park. Some things never change.
Prices are according to height with people 48 inches or taller paying $13 admission and people less than 48 inches are charged $6; children 3 years or younger are free. Seniors pay $9 per person. There are some discounts if you have a Florida driver’s license and proof of a Collier County residence. If you’re thinking of taking a large group or you are planning a special event, call them to inquire about those arrangements.
